Colored Contact Lenses

Author: Lorna Mclaren

If you like your outfit to be completely color co-ordinated or simply feel like a change then colored contact lenses are a great option. These contact lenses actually alter your natural eye color. You can use contact lenses that have an enhancement tint to them or a stronger color tint.

Contact lenses that have an enhancement tint are made in a color that is slightly darker than your normal eye color. These contact lenses are still see-through but work to emphasise your natural eye color. These types of color contact lenses are especially effective for people with lightly colored eyes as they intensify the color.

Contact lenses with color tints have stronger, more solid tints that can change your eye color completely. If you are brown-eyed, for example, you could wear amethyst colored contact lenses for a dramatic effect or if you have always wanted to have blue eyes then you can with color contact lenses. Of course, the centres of the contact lenses are always clear to enable normal vision.

Often changing the color of your eyes is done purely for the dramatic effect and as a talking point when out with friends. It can be fun as they look at you trying to decide if its your hair that is different or if you are wearing different makeup. Strangely they notice something is not the same but they cant put their finger on it!!

I have naturally blue eyes but have from time to time had green or brown colored contacts in and have experienced the double take as people who see you regularly cant place the difference!!
